Did you know that you can recycle your aluminum pet food cans? Purina is starting a campaign to promote recycling called, “Together We Can Recycle!” So you can go here to the Together We Can website and make the pledge to recycle your pet food cans. I just wanted to share this great campaign with all of my lovely readers. :)
Happy Pet Savings! :)

**This contest has now ended! Thanks for entering!**
When browsing the blogosphere I came across some beautiful and unique jewelry at the Etsy store called BeadedTail. I also liked how the owner of BeadedTail, Sharla, donates part of her proceeds towards helping animals. This months donation is going to The Friendly Kitchen of Concord, New Hampshire. (Which reminds me, don’t forget to nominate an animal shelter or organization for My Pet Savings Help-A-Pet program!)
I love this bracelet with the adorable paw print and beautiful blue cat’s eye beads:

How pretty is this necklace? It has an adorable kitty cat bead and Swarovski crystals! :

Check out this bracelet. You can choose between the ♥ My Dog or ♥ My Cat heart charm. :

How about these beautiful sterling silver dangle earrings with a heart bead? Perfect for Valentine’s Day!

There is something for everyone, but I love how the BeadedTail caters to the animal lovers out there!
Please stop by The BeadedTail blog where you will meet Sharla’s lovely pets Angel, Isabella, and Sadie.
Sharla has graciously offered to provide a $20 Gift Certificate to BeadedTail to one lucky animal lover here on My Pet Savings! :)

Just wanted to let you all know that there is a current Salmonella Warning for Merrick Beef Filet Squares.
“The U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning regarding Merrick Beef Filet Square dog treats with a package date “Best By 111911” because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella. The potentially contaminated products, sold nationwide in stores and online, were packaged in a 10oz green, red and tan resealable bag with the “best by” date located on the top portion of the bag that is torn off when the bag is opened. Although no illnesses associated with this product have been reported, the FDA is advising consumers not to handle the product nor to give the product to their pets.” (doggedhealth.com)
Hopefully none of you have been effected by this and your pets are safe.

This month’s donation will go towards helping animals as well as the people in Haiti. All shelter or animal organization donation nominations will be carried over to February. I have joined with Crystal of Money Saving Mom in an effort to raise awareness for Haiti earthquake relief and to generate as much help as possible in this severe time of need.
To do our part, My Pet Savings will give this month’s Help-A-Pet donation to International Fund for Animal Welfare and Compassion . This donation will be split equally between the two organizations. This donation will not only be the normal 20% of ALL site generated income, BUT for every person who gives in some way to help Haiti and posts a comment or leaves their blog post related to this topic in the Mr. Linky, I will increase the percentage amount by 1%. So for example, My Pet Savings normally has a monthly 20% animal-related donation…for this special donation we will add a percentage. So for 1 comment/Mr. Linky post would be 21%, for 10 comments/Mr. Linky posts would be 30%…and so on.
This Help-A-Pet Project for Haiti will end Jan. 31st, OR until we reach 100% capacity for the donation.
So what are you waiting for? Let’s give and help those in need…including animals! Remember to keep Haiti in your prayers.

Hey there fellow pet lovers! :)
I have an exciting announcement about My Pet Savings that I wanted to share with you all. I hope that this website has been helpful for you in saving money on your pet supplies. I wanted to take things one step further to truly helping pets by having a monthly animal shelter or organization donation!
I am proud to announce that My Pet Savings will be donating 20% off ALL income earned through this website! So that means you are making a difference just by being here. All revenue earned from ad-clicks, affiliate links, donations, or purchases on MyPetSavings.com all contribute to the 20% monthly donation. How cool is that? So the more revenue earned, the more money we can give to help pets! :)
How Will This Work?
There will be a new shelter selected for donation every month! I will be taking shelter nominations and selecting 1 winning shelter each month through random.org. I want to make sure all shelters that are nominated have a chance, so once a shelter receives a donation they will not be available again for selection until 3 other shelters have received donations. In other words, when a shelter receives a donation they will be added back into the donation drawing after 3-months. I will take 6 of the nominated shelters and make a poll in one of my right sidebars. The top 3 shelters with the most votes will be eligible for winning the donation for that month.
How You Can Help:
Spread the word! Tell your friends and family to vote for a shelter or nominate a shelter. Check out MyPetSavings.com when you want to make a pet purchase or save money on pet products. We are currently working on adding more affiliates to provide you with more products for all of your pet’s needs. Just by being here you are helping contribute towards the monthly Help-A-Pet Project.
Thank you for being here and joining in this exciting opportunity! Believe me…your pet will thank you. :)
