Meet Blog Owner, Author & Editor: Kristy
My Pet Savings was started by Kristy, in December of 2009. Kristy works hard at researching and providing the latest pet coupons, deals, freebies and more to pet owners all over the world. She has partnered and joined efforts with the Pet Coupon Central Program, providing coupons to needy pets and their owners who are having a hard time affording quality care for their animals. She has owned many pets over the course of her life and currently owns a very spoiled cat named Eve.
More importantly, she is a Christian, wife and mother of a 21-month old son. She resides with her family in sunny California and enjoys writing, reading, crafting, painting, shopping and so much more. Kristy also has her B.A. in Psychology which she applies to her life on a daily basis through interaction with others. She works part-time out of the home as a professional blogger and freelance writer. Her life is very busy but she finds joy in helping others save money so they can live life a little more care-free and enjoy all of life’s blessings…including their pets! :)
Meet Content Contributor: Katie
Katie joined My Pet Savings as a content contributor in July 2011.
Katie is happily married to a linguistic major. She herself majored in English out of college, and aspires to edit for a magazine or newspaper someday; but she also knows that being a mom is in her future, too. She is a Faithful woman who attends church every Sunday and enjoys potlucks with her fellow church goers. She’s also very crafty, and specializes in quilling art, small clay pendants and homemade stuffed animals. A time or two she has taken a shot at writing something as well, though to no prevail thus far. Most importantly, she’s constantly looking for new challenges, opportunities, and interesting things with which to get involved.
Meet Article Writer: Melissa
Melissa joined My Pet Savings and Modern Pet Savings as an article writer in July, 2011.
Melissa is the proud parent of three dogs and three cats: Walter (a disabled golden/chow rescue); Reagan (a wild golden retriever); Quincy (a rescued border collie mix); Aurora aka “The Diva” (a deaf, rescued Turkish Angora); Piper (a one-eared former feral rescue); and Rhoda (saved from death row as a kitten). She takes care of this animal crew with her engineer husband, Alan, at a country home in Michigan with a big backyard.
Melissa has a master’s degree in creative writing and is the owner of Cold Noses Chronicle, an animal wellness web magazine devoted to nutrition, pet care, and animal rescue causes. This magazine was inspired by her best friend, Wembley, a golden retriever lost to cancer in January 2010. When she is not writing or reading, she is working as a higher education English instructor.

Meet Content Contributor: Lindsay
Lindsay joined My Pet Savings as an occasional content contributor in January 2011.
Lindsay is a former zoo keeper and animal trainer now pursuing her degree in veterinary medicine. She blogs at Centsible Pets and also writes pet related articles at ehow and Suite 101. Lindsay shares her home with 3 dogs, 2 cats, a small flock of chickens, and a baby goat named Luna.
Her dog, Emma, is a 10 year old Golden Retriever that is most content coddling her many “babies” and holding someones hand. Abby and Reagan are miniature dachshunds rescued from Fun Doxie Rescue in Detroit, Michigan. They spend inordinate amounts of time hidden under the covers and generally refusing to accept their short statures. Sketch and Roy, the resident kitties are both rescues from Lindsay’s undergraduate days in New Orleans, LA and still refuse to believe the 18 hour cramped evacuation from Hurricane Katrina wasn’t, at least in part, Lindsay’s fault. The chickens and Luna are the newest additions to the household as Lindsay discovers her inner farmer and tries to convince Luna that she isn’t actually a wiener dog.
