Pet Safety Alert: Salmonella Warning for Merrick Beef

by Kristy on January 16, 2010

Just wanted to let you all know that there is a current Salmonella Warning for Merrick Beef Filet Squares.

“The U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a warning regarding Merrick Beef Filet Square dog treats with a package date “Best By 111911” because the product may be contaminated with Salmonella. The potentially contaminated products, sold nationwide in stores and online, were packaged in a 10oz green, red and tan resealable bag with the “best by” date located on the top portion of the bag that is torn off when the bag is opened. Although no illnesses associated with this product have been reported, the FDA is advising consumers not to handle the product nor to give the product to their pets.” (doggedhealth.com)

Hopefully none of you have been effected by this and your pets are safe.
